Ann W. McGrath After studying art at colleges in the East (Virginia and Washington D.C.) for two years, Ann returned to her home town of San Antonio, Texas, and was Assistant Director of Advertising in Texas’ largest department store. She was fashion illustrator and layout artist for four years. She returned to school, and took her undergraduate degree at Trinity University, taking metal sculpture from Phillip Evett, also studying pottery, portrait painting, landscape painting and clay sculpture with casting in various materials. For her graduate degree, she attended San Miguel de Allende, studying sculpture and the various casting methods involved. She attended San Antonio Art Institute, studying floor loom weaving, producing rugs, saddle blankets and other large pieces. Ann has earned her accreditation in welding from Luna Community College, in Las Vegas, New Mexico. She has been represented by galleries in San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, New Orleans, and Santa Fe. Ann has created and owned several businesses, while carving out time for her artwork. A resident of New Mexico since the late 70s, the largest piece of artwork she has done is the house in which she lives.
